Cupuacu Oil (30 g )

Our organically crafted Cupuaçu Oil (pronounced coo-poo-assoo) is extracted from the seeds of the Theobroma grandiflorum tree found growing wild in the eastern subregion of the Brazilian Amazon rainforests. Cupuacu Oil is an excellent vegan alternative to animal-derived Lanolin, with a very high water absorption capacity, allowing it to function much more effectively as a skin hydrator and plumper.

Cupuacu Oil boasts many of the same benefits as Cupuacu Butter because Cupuacu Oil is actually obtained by filtrating (or fractionating) Cupuacu Butter. During the filtration process, all of the nourishing actives in Cupuacu Butter are drawn out into a concentrated oil, while the compounds that make the butter solid and waxy are left behind. Unlike Cupuacu Butter, which remains solid and waxy at room temperature, Cupuacu Oil has a consistency similar to that of a typical cold-pressed oil, thus making it easier to use in cosmetic formulations.

REPORTED BENEFITS AND USES

The luxurious, nourishing Cupuacu Oil is an excellent emollient for cosmetic formulations and may be used to prevent drying of the skin and development of wrinkles, to reduce degeneration of skin cells, and to restore flexibility, moisture retention ability and elasticity to the skin. Though it's not recognized as an SPF, Cupuacu Oil is also well known for it's ability to absorb damaging UVA/UVB rays for natural sun protection.

Cupuacu Oil improves the appearance of prematurely aging and thinning skin while being a superior moisturiser with great water absorption. It also helps improve skin elasticity by supporting the skin proteins collagen and elastin. Cupuacu Oil does so by maintaining the skin's barrier, helping it manage levels of toxins such as pollution and cigarette smokes, which contribute to fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots and other signs of aging. In addition to skin care products, Cupuacu Oil is also widely used in hair care products to moisturise parched strands while encouraging healthy hair growth.
