Typical applications and addition rates

Skin care products (such as essences, lotions, sunscreens):

Addition rate: 1%~5%

Function: Improve skin feel, reduce stickiness, and enhance film-forming properties.

Makeup (foundation liquid, primer, primer):

Addition rate: 3%~10%

Function: Improve smoothness and assist in even application of makeup.

Hair care products (shampoo, conditioner):

Addition rate: 0.5%~3%

Function: Increase hair smoothness and reduce frizziness.

Usage

Dissolution/dispersion:

Usually needs to be pre-mixed with low viscosity silicone oil (such as cyclopentasiloxane, D5) or other solvents to help evenly disperse.

Can be heated to 40-50°C to accelerate dissolution (adjusted according to the specific product properties).

Addition stage:

Add in the oil phase and mix evenly with other silicone oils or greases.

If it is a water-based formula, it needs to be matched with an emulsifier (such as PEG-10 polydimethylsiloxane).

Precautions:

Avoid direct mixing with highly polar ingredients (such as high concentration alcohol, strong acid/base), which may cause precipitation.

Test compatibility with other ingredients in the formula (such as sunscreen, pigment).
